Key Trends
We’ve been thinking over the summer, what are the most key trends for this season? Well, autumn/winter 2019 is a game of two halves.
Team Minimalist
Over on ‘team minimalist’, seriously sophisticated tailoring takes centre stage – consider it a much needed palate cleanser after seasons of sports luxe. Then there’s the return of butter-soft leather, and leather boots in particular, directing the new mood in understated luxury.
Team Drama
As for the opposing side? Team drama, sequins, retina-searing colour, worn head-to-toe. And gowns – jumbo-sized and couture-like in their construction and unapologetically OTT.
More Gucci!
Add to the mix the return of the Seventies era, a signature look comprising a lady-like skirts with extra swish, a silk blouse, a sharp, tailored blazer and an assortment of silk scarves (think Gucci), top-handle bags (more Gucci) and – if you are, in the words of Lizzo, “feeling juicy” – a pair of statement sunglasses, and it’s shaping up to be a wonderfully wearable season of fashion. Bring it on.
